"Greater" Amman Municipality is serious about the building of an opera house, it will be opened in the Muhajereen zone, where now there is a building owned by the Jordan Tobacco & Cigarettes Co. It's interesting to see what people think about spending money for this project, if it is good to have a new cultular organization, or it's not opportune and it's better to build something we really need... What do you think?

I think there are already enough theatres in town (there is one across the road in the amaneh building in Ras il ein), a large well-designed central library should probably be a bigger priority especially in such an acessible location.

It's a great idea, and I love the fact that it's in Muhajireen, this way people who don't have access to the theatres of West Amman can have easier access to cultural entertainment.

Wouldn't it be better to build a 'house' that is related to arabic music? Much like the Oud House in Egypt that is lead by the gret Iraqi Oud player Naseer Shamma.
Arabic Music as an 'Art' should be taken care of, it is a priority.

well, I agree they have other things to do rather than building an opera house.
but it might be an interesting idea and might be beneficial in a long run, because developing cultural wealth is also important.
