Police dispersed protesters planning to march on the Israeli embassy in Amman on Friday, the protesters tried to reach the Israeli embassy and demanded the government to expel the Israeli ambassador (or literally to "kick out the Zionist pig"). Anti-riot police fired tear gas at the protesters near Kalouti mosque in Rabia district, some online pictures show that the used tear gas canisters expired in July 1995 (before 14 years). Back in December 2008, a 68 year old man has died in Greece from inhaling expired tear gas.

I understand that they're doing their jobs, but they should have talked to the protesters first and warn them what will happen if they keep approaching the embassy rather than just launch tear gas

Well, I do not know the dynamics of this event and tear gas is widely used against protesters in all the parts of the world. The main issue is that such expired gas may be very dangerous, a lot of people from those who demonstrated in Rabia said they still have headaches, irritations and other diseases since Friday..

How confident are you that the one in that picture were used in the very recent demonstrations?
